New openings in St. Moritz
Grace La Margna
Grace La Margna is a spectacular hotel with rooms overlooking Lake St. Moritz. This Luxus Lifestyle & Boutique Hotel, opened in August 2023, leaves nothing to chance, starting from the pillow menu in the room, and is preparing to face its first winter season. In addition to a spa dedicated to holistic wellbeing, it offers different types of restaurants to satisfy all palates. The perfect place for an aperitivo or afternoon tea.
The flagship is the mixology experience at bar N/5 - THE BAR, where you can taste the cocktails of the talented head barman and bar manager Mirco Giumelli, who surprises with special effects behind the counter, and entertains guests with masterclasses to learn the ABCs of mixed drinking –the perfect place for an aperitivo or after dinner drink. The afternoon teatime ritual in the Living Room is also unmissable: a dedicated menu welcomes guests, who can admire the enchanting Alpine landscape, with a steaming cup in hand, beside the roaring fireplace. A moment of pure relaxation and enjoyment, punctuated by a selection of Mariage Frères teas chosen with the help of a sommelier, desserts from the house pastry chef, as well as savoury canapés. Kulm Hotel St. Moritz
The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz has reopened with a completely renewed gastronomic offering, bringing together important names in international design and cuisine. The Amaru restaurant is born from the vision of British designer Luke Edward Hall to accommodate Claudia Canessa's Japanese-Peruvian haute cuisine: a cheerful space where you can enjoy Peruvian street food in a refined way.
After three years at the helm of the fine-dining restaurant the K inside the hotel, awarded a Michelin star, Mauro Colagreco moves to the Kulm Country Club, offering a simultaneously refined and informal cuisine, focused on the concept of ‘Mountain Terroir’. The spaces, conceived in 2017 from the restyling of Sir Norman Foster, have been renovated with neutral and natural colours to enhance the surrounding mountains.
Finally, young rising star of British cuisine, Tom Booton, takes the reins of the Sunny Bar, an historic winter refuge for Cresta Run lovers and Switzerland’s first sports bar. The new culinary approach honours the tradition of the restaurant, in a refined interpretation of cuisine from across the Channel, including British and Swiss ingredients. The menu, inspired by the ‘gastropub’ concept, includes hearty and sophisticated dishes such as the Tom's toad in the hole chocolate hot pot.
Michelin-starred restaurants in St. Moritz
Krone
Venison cooked twice, with a side of broccoli, blueberry and marjoram at Krone
We love the modern fairytale story of Krone. The restaurant, which won a Michelin star within a year, in October 2022, was opened in the same location where an old stube serving typical local cuisine once stood (the only traditional address, also frequented by locals). Once closed, the inhabitants of St. Moritz carried out an experiment in self-management, based on shifts in the dining room and kitchen. Then came the definitive closure of the restaurant, but also the turning point, with the Cookerz under-35 team, made up of Fabio Rovisi, Carolina Moro and Samuel Carugati. Here the three partners opened Krone, a fine-dining restaurant which has nevertheless preserved the rustic atmosphere of the place, among deer antler chandeliers and wooden benches.
Chef Carugati impresses with a genuine cuisine, a sure hand and the perfect balance between pampering and refined bites. Among the best dishes on the new menu are the grilled artichoke with pecorino cheese and cardoon, the Spaghettone Monograno Felicetti with scampi and black garlic, and the twice-cooked venison, with a side dish of broccoli, blueberry and marjoram. Advice? Start with an aperitif in the charming hutte, to warm up in front of an open fire.
Da Vittorio St. Moritz
We must mention the two-Michelin-star Da Vittorio St. Moritz, a Swiss restaurant that belongs to the Cerea family group (of three-Michelin-star Da Vittorio restaurant in Brusaporto, near Bergamo). Located within the Carlton Hotel it has just reopened for the 2023-24 season. At the helm of the kitchen is Paolo Rota, Executive Chef of Da Vittorio, who has also led the kitchen team of the Swiss restaurant since 2019. “I tried to remain faithful to the values that define Da Vittorio's gastronomic identity,” he explains. “The menu is the most authentic expression of the desire [of] all our businesses to pamper and make those who sit at our tables feel good.” Thus, alongside classics such as the paccheri mantecati al tavolo or the crudo ‘d'amare’, we find novelties such as partridge tortellini in broth, sea green risotto, creamed with wild garlic oil and accompanied by crustaceans and shells, and the maialino da latte con tartufo, a classic of the season.

Langosteria

Looking for restaurants where you can go to warm up after a day on the slopes? If you love fish, Langosteria St. Moritz is the one for you. This Milanese establishment has recently reopened for the winter season and, for the second year, is bringing the style of the fine-dining brand founded by Enrico Buonocore to the Swiss peaks.
The well-kept and welcoming location will have an installation born from the collaboration with Deodato Gallery this year. With a fairytale-like atmosphere, the space stands out for its magnificent terrace overlooking the Corviglia slopes. What to try? The tasty polenta with seafood, a dish unique to this branch of Langosteria, capable of quickly warming the heart and palate.
Celeste
Cookerz's mountain bistro and street food bar, Celeste, is where you can taste comfort food created by a young team led by chef Samuel Carugati. It is in the Salastrain area, above St. Moritz, and offers both street food (which can be ordered from the food truck on the terrace), from hot dogs to typical local dishes, like the famous barley soup gerstensuppe, perfect for a quick lunch or for those looking for places in St. Moritz to eat on a budget; and a bistro menu, including corn tacos with pulled pork, beans and chickpeas, and tagliatelle with game ragout. The location is refined, with the textures that decorate the seats, walls and placemats inspired by the typical flowers of the Engadine.
Cult addresses and original experiences in St. Moritz
Balthazar
Anyone who wants to breathe in the glamour of St. Moritz and get to the heart of its lifestyle should not miss out on Balthazar, opened in 2017 and which in just a few years, has become a cult hero of the local dining scene. Themed evenings offer live music, while signature dishes include carbocalamaro – carbonara based on calamari instead of pasta – and pizza. The brand also opened Balthazar Downtown in 2019.
The Outdoors St. Moritz
In St. Moritz there is no shortage of original culinary experiences combining gastronomy and immersion in Alpine nature. The Outdoors is a young company that offers interesting ideas for tasty activities on the snow: ranging from Snowshoes & Aperitif to Sleighing & Fondue, from Bike & Fondue to Skimo & Pic Nic.

Let’s not forget that St. Moritz is in Switzerland, the home of chocolate. Those with a sweet tooth, therefore, should not miss the feast of berry bars, chocolate-coated popcorn, pralines and many other tempting products on offer at the Läderach boutique, a historic quality chocolate brand.
Glattfelder
In the centre of St. Moritz, next to flagship fashion stores, is a shop that sells infusions, teas and herbal teas based on mountain herbs, with balsamic and fresh scents. It's called Glattfelder and offers fragrant blends in sober and elegant packaging: ranging from chamomile flowers to an aromatic allegra mix, from verbena to edelweiss. The perfect souvenir, to bring home a bit of mountain air.
