The Michelin Guide for Germany 2016 has now been released and the big news is that the country now boasts a new three starred restaurant with the announcement that The Table by Kevin Fehling in Hamburg made the rare move of entering the guide with the highest possible accolade.
In the two star category, four new restaurants entered the guide: Horváth in Berlin, Lafleur in Frankfurt, Atelier in Munich and Schanz in Piesport.
A massive 26 restaurants were award their first star taking the total of one star offset by 15 restaurants loosing one star. There were two three-starred restaurants, La Belle Spoque and Amador, that disappeared from the guide but this was after both closed.
In total, the Michelin Guide for Germany 2016 features 10 restaurants with three stars, 39 restaurants with two stars and 241 restaurants with one star.
