The Perennial Plate is the dynamic duo of Mirra Fine and Daniel Klein who travel the world documenting interesting stories relating to food.
We've highlighted a number of their productions on FDL and now we bring you this video of Klein discussing the pair's work at Rene Redzepi's MAD Symposium in Copenhagen.
During the presentation Klein discusses their own idea of 'Guts' presenting three videos that they feel exemplify the meaning of the word, focusing on their own theme of vulnerability - something that Klein says is "the essence of guts".
Of the three videos Klein discusses, one was The Faces of Turkey - a look at the faces of food producers, cooks, farmers, beekeepers, fishermen and restaurant owners in Turkey.
He also discussed a film about a Nomadic family in the mountains of Morocco which will be released near the end of October 2013 and finally the heart wrenching video seen below called Don't Blame the Sea in which the duo meet with a Sri Lankan fishing family who lost eight members during the devastating Tsunami.
