Den in Tokyo has topped the tenth edition of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, which was streamed from three live events in Macau, Bangkok and Tokyo.
While Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list 100-51 had already been announced, showcasing the best of the rest across the continent, it was time to get down to the much-anticipated ranking of the 50 best in Asia.
Some special awards were also meted out, with South Korean monk Jeong Kwan taking the Icon Award, and Eat and Cook in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, named One to Watch, while Natsuko Shoji from Été in Tokyo won Asia’s Best Female Chef. David Lai from Neighborhood, Hong Kong, picked up the Inedit Damm Chefs’ Choice Award. The Flor de Caña Sustainable Restaurant Award went to Mume, Taipei. The Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award went to Odette, Singapore. And Maira Yeo was named Asia’s Best Pastry Chef.
