Coa, a Mexican influenced bar in Hong Kong, has been named The Best Bar in Asia and The Best Bar in China, at this year's Asia’s 50 Best Bars award's virtual ceremony, sponsored by Perrier.

Opened in 2017 by bartender-owner Jay Khan, who was also voted Bartenders’ Bartender at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2020, Coa houses a meticulously researched collection of 200 handcrafted Latin American liquids, from tequila to sotol, and features a 41-page agave cocktail menu. The bar takes its name from the machete-like tool used for harvesting agave, in homage to the plant from which both mezcal and tequila are distilled.
Last year's winner, Jigger & Pony, in Singapore, fell into second place, but was named The Best Bar in Singapore for a second consecutive year. The SG Club, in Tokyo, was at number three, and Taiwan’s Indulge Experimental Bistro held strong at number four, being named The Best Bar in Taiwan for a second consecutive year.
The list features bars from ten countries across Asia, with eight new entries. China dominates this year's list, with 13 bars and four new entries.
