The 39th selection of the Michelin Guide Main Cities of Europe has been announced, with the cities of Kraców and Ljubljana receiving their first-ever stars.
The guide, which covers 39 cities in 23 countries and recommends over 1,850 restaurants, this year includes four new three-star restaurants, 13 new two-star restaurants and 52 new one-star restaurants.
In Poland's picturesque city of Kraców, Bottiglieria 1881 was awarded the city's first-ever Michelin star. In Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, restaurant Atelje, under chef Jorg Zupan, also received its first star.
Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin guides said: “After the challenges of the last three months, I am delighted that the delayed launch of the Michelin Guide Main Cities of Europe 2020 coincides with the gradual reopening of restaurants across Europe following a relaxation of restrictions implemented during the pandemic."
