The Michelin Guide to Atlanta 2024 was announced at a gala event at the Georgia World Congress Center, with a total of four newly starred restaurants added to the list, confirming the city's reputation as a culinary destination on the rise.
With the first guide to Atlanta announced just last year, this year saw the number of starred restaurants almost double, jumping from five in 2023 to 9 in 2024. One-star additions included Staplehouse, located on Edgewood Avenue in Old Fourth Ward, a restaurant that ticks almost all the boxes, from simple fare to high-end cuisine. A firm local favorite, the Guide awarded the star for the restaurant's "hearty and far from fussy offering."
Also picking up a star was Spring, located just behind Marietta Square. With a minimalist, stylish interior, the food is lauded for its accomplished technicality. The restaurant also picked up the Michelin Outstanding Service Award this year.
O by Brush in Buckhead, also made the grade with one star for chef Jason Liang's interpretation of omakase with Taiwanese and Japanese influences. Omakase Table was another Japanese restaurant to be awarded a star this year thanks to chef Leonard Yu's approach which "leans traditional while offering a nice balance of variety and seasonality,” according to the Guide.
