The Michelin Guide has confirmed that it will unveil a selection for Texas in 2024, becoming the 11th North America edition of the famous red book.

The Texas restaurant scene has been thriving in recent years and with a unique tradition in barbecue, Mexican-influenced cuisine and a proud agricultural tradition, the Lone Star State has all the ingredients to become one of the best places for chefs to express their creativity across a range of restaurant formats in the future. The Michelin Guide will give chefs something to aim for in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

For tourists and locals alike, Texas is increasingly becoming one of the US’s most exciting places to be. Once overlooked as a culinary destination, the state has come a long way in recent years, building on its rich food traditions, but also attracting exciting culinary talent with a fearless attitude to kitchen creativity.

The Michelin Guide’s anonymous inspectors will be sharpening their knives and forks as they prepare to dine and rate Texas’ best restaurants across the state.

“The Texas culinary scene has proven to be an exhilarating one, with multicultural influences, homegrown ingredients, and talent that is rich in ambition,” says Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide.

“Foodies and travel enthusiasts alike will find something to enjoy, with such a broad dining scene spanning farm-to-table dishes, fusion cuisine, upscale dining, and the famous Texas-style barbecue. Texas is a perfect fit for the Michelin Guide, based on the experiences of our anonymous Inspectors,” he continued.
