The Virtual Restaurant Association will focus on providing free memberships to virtual restaurant companies that can evidence a commitment to health and safety, brand integrity, intellectual property and profitability.
In recent times, many restaurant businesses in the virtual space have been victims of scams, copycat brands and infringement of intellectual property. There are cases of virtual kitchens being set up under the name of established restaurants without the chef or owner’s knowledge. Some virtual restaurants have not met industry health and safety standards, which can undermine customer trust and affect profitability.
The VRA will now begin the process of assembling a board of directors and will accept applications from potential member companies and restaurant groups.
