Located on Los Angeles’ Michelin Mile, KŌAST Melrose is the latest venture from Michelin-starred chef Kevin Meehan, in partnership with sommelier Drew Langley, executive chef Michael Kerner, and general manager Jessica Tripp. Just steps from their acclaimed Kali Restaurant, KŌAST offers a casual yet refined seafood experience, blending sustainably sourced ingredients with inventive techniques.
The menu showcases dishes like crispy scallop cakes with avocado remoulade, lobster baked manicotti, and grilled Long Island striped bass, each reflecting Meehan’s passion for high-quality seafood prepared with care. Langley’s beverage program highlights English sparkling wines and Austrian Rieslings, carefully curated to complement the vibrant flavors of the menu.
Designed by Studio Surovek, the interior merges Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetics with Scandinavian minimalism, featuring raw materials, exposed steel beams, and deep-sea-inspired tones. With handcrafted dishware by Haand and Olivet Ceramics, every detail enhances the dining experience.
“I wanted to create a casual, welcoming spot where the neighborhood can enjoy fresh seafood without any pretense,” says Meehan. “It’s all about great food, a fun atmosphere, and a place people can keep coming back to.”
