Springtime in New York was celebrated this week with an exclusive Relais & Châteaux Grand Chefs dinner, which gathered more than 45 celebrity chefs in the city's famed Gotham Hall.
Chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Daniel Boulud, whose restaurant Daniel ranked 11th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list in 2011, were among the acclaimed chefs who raised their champagne-filled glass in a toast to Spring. The dinner highlighted the bounty of ingredients that America has to offer. Chefs cooked a variety of splendid dishes using the same ingredients: Maine scallops, lobster, Montauk sea bass, morels, asparagus, veal and rack of lamb.
Relais & Châteaux, a prestigious collection of 500 exclusive hotels and gourmet restaurants, hosted the dinner 16th April to benefit the Citymeals on Wheels charity. Last year, the celebratory annual feast was hosted at France's Court of Versailles to honor the induction of French cuisine into the UNESCO list of world heritage.
