News: A total of 374 Michelin Stars for Italy
The wait is over. Today, 6 November, the 65th edition of the Michelin Guide to Italy 2020 was revealed at the Teatro Municipale of Piacenza of Reggio Emilia and Parma, in the heart of the Food Valley and Capital of Culture 2020.
This year's biggest news is that a brand new three-star restaurant, Enrico Bartolini al Mudec in Milan has made the top rankings in the guide, joined by two new two stars and 30 newly appointed one-star restaurants (listed below).
"The guide gives a snapshot of an extremely lively gastronomic scene in Italy, dynamic, of quality and of great diversity", explained Poullenec, general manager of the Michelin Guide.
That now brings Italy up to a total of 11 three-star restaurants (all existing three-star restaurants retained their stars), 35 two-star restaurants and 328 one-star restaurants, meaning the country owns a combined total of 374 stars.
Michelin Guide 2020 - The numbers
The 2020 edition includes more than 2000 restaurants, 266 Bib Gourmands, including 25 new entries, with the Emilia Romagna region in the lead, followed by Piedmont, Lombardy, Tuscany and Veneto.
