Alinea in Chicago has been chosen as the winner of the first ever World’s 50 Best Restaurants People’s Poll.
The restaurant, headed up by Grant Achatz, recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and is set to close in January for a complete reconceptualisation, at which point Alinea will also pop-up in Madrid and Miami.
The People’s Poll was decided by diners filling in a simple online survey about their favourite restaurant experience. Alinea was 9th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2014.
The 2015 ceremony will take place on Monday June 1st and we will of course be bringing you the usual live stream direct from the awards. You can also get an early look this year at the restaurants that featured on the 51-100 list.
