Japan has more three Michelin star restaurants than any other country, and now, following the release of the Michelin Guide to Kyoto and Osaka 2018, two more restaurants have joined this exclusive cub.
The first is Lida, a secretive Japanese spot in Kyoto, photos of which are scarce – you’ll just have to go there! – but we have pulled together some pics from the second, French restaurant Hajime, in Osaka, which currently sits at number 34 on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
There, chef Hajime Yoneda is applying everything he learnt both in France and working for Michel Bras at Toya in Hokkaido to create beautiful, thought provoking plates that look to celebrate nature, the earth and space.
Enjoy the dishes below.
