Last spring The Roca Brothers debuted their culinary opera El Somni, a groundbreaking 12-act dining experience that blended haute cuisine with visual arts, music and creativity. This time around the talented trio who run the world's best restaurant, according to 2013 World's 50 Best Restaurant List, have unleashed the literary companion to their gastro-opera.
The Roca Brothers took to social media to announce their new book and the May 9th debut of the El Somni documentary. The film will be released online and in DVDs with subtitles in 10 different languages, La Vanguardia reports.
Both the book and the film by Mediapro are part of the multi-sensorial approach the brothers took in developing El Somni, which began as a 3-D dinner at El Celler de Can Roca. The edible opera for 12 diners was hosted at 12 different locations around the world and later became an exhibit in Spain.
These two big announcements were made less than a week before the 2014 World's Best Restaurants list sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna is announced at a special ceremony in London.
