Legendary French chef Alain Ducasse, World's 50 Best Restaurants Lifetime Achievement winner in 2013, plans to open several more restaurants in London but one of them remains a big secret, Bloomberg reports. Ducasse, whose restaurant empire spans the globe, spoke candidly about his upcoming Rivea London, which will open later this year at the Bulgari Hotel. He said the restaurant will have an informal setting where diners can enjoy cuisine inspired by the food markets in France and Italy.
Although there's speculation he will take over the Grill at the Dorchester, Ducasse is remaining tight-lipped about any details pertaining to the second restaurant opening. “There is nothing I can tell you about the second one," he told Bloomberg between laughs. These would be the second and third restaurants Ducasse opens in London as the city is already home to Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester which has three Michelin stars.
There's also talk about the possibility of bringing his Benoit brasserie to London. “That’s an idea we are considering for the fourth one. We’re thinking very seriously.”
