The Michelin Guide to the Netherlands 2018, the last Guide of the year, has been released and the big news is that there is a new three-Michelin-star restaurant.
Inter Scaldes in Kruiningen has been open since 1968, won its first star in 1977 and has, amazingly, been waiting for its third Michelin star since 1984. The kitchen, helmed by chef Jannis Brevet, turns out local produce inspired by both land and sea. This means the Netherlands now has three Michelin star restaurants: Inter Scaldes, De Leest and De Librije.
There are no new two star restaurants this year, but six new one-star restaurants, meaning the Netherlands now has a total of 108 Michelin-starred restaurants.
