Chefs considering a move away from their current restaurant, perhaps to an entirely new city, would be wise to take a look at this list of the best US cities for chefs.
With the assistance of job providers Indeed, SpareFoot have calculated the best cities for chefs based on number of job listings, average salary, “salary as a percentage of median home price” and “median annual salary as percentage of rent,” with job availability given double weight.
Atlanta, Georgia ranks first down to being the third best paying city and the second most affordable, although interestingly it has the least available jobs. Philadelphia is second, being the most affordable for renting and owning your own home, while Chicago, in third, is similarly affordable. San Francisco is the best paying, while New York has the most job opportunities.
