Elite Traveler and their food critic Andy Hayler, a man who claims to have eaten at every three Michelin star restaurant in the world, have compiled a list of the five most influential chefs of the last decade in the UK, plus the five who they think will be the most influential over the next 10 years.
The five from the last decade are Simon Rogan of L’Enclume and Fera, Stephen Harris of The Sportsman, recently named Best UK Restaurant by Restaurant Magazine, Ashley Palmer-Watts of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Nathan Outlaw and Brett Graham of The Ledbury.
Predicted to be shaking up the UK’s culinary scene over the next 10 years are Tom Kemble (Bonhams), Graeme Cheevers (Martin Wishart), Mikael Jonsson (Hedone), Elizabeth Allen (Kaizen, formerly of Pidgin) and Clare Smyth, who will open her own long awaited restaurant in London in 2017.
Slightly confusingly, the same team compiled a global list of the 15 most influential chefs of the next decade back in 2013, on which both Rogan and Graham featured.
