The Michelin Guide to Switzerland 2017 has been revealed, and whilst the number of restaurants with three stars remains, fittingly, at three, two new two star and 12 new one star ratings were awarded – Switzerland now has the highest number of Michelin stars per capita in Europe, with 117.
The trio of three star restaurants are Cheval Blanc (Basel), Schloss–Schauenstein (Fürstenau) and Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville (Crissier). Switzerland also has 19 two star and 95 one star restaurants in total, and 139 bib Gourmands (restaurants that come highly recommended by Michelin), with 31 new entries in this category.
