If you’re still holding on to some early copies of the Michelin guide you may want to dust them off and have them valued after a set of three guides dating back to 1900 sold at auction for €25,000 ($33,763).
The set was sold as part of a large auction which, L’Argent & Vous Boursier reports, included: the aforementioned guides dating from 1900-1902 - one in near mint condition. A collection of French guides dating from 1900 to 2000 were auctioned for €26,000.
Swiss, German and Belgium guides were also included in the auction - each lot including guides from the founding years of each country.
It seems your old Michelin guides could actually be worth some big money, but you have to go back to the 1900s before they carry any real value.
