When it comes to resilience, Somalian chef Ahmed Jama has plenty of it. In this video from MAD3, the chef talks about leaving a comfortable life in London to open restaurants in his war-torn homeland.
Jama first opened The Villages after his return to Somalia in 2013. He's since opened five business that have become the first modern restaurants in the village of Mogadishu. He's done this all throughout massive challenges including a suicide bombing last year which left 14 dead.
Unfortunately, his restaurant was targeted in a militant bombing this month which resulted in 15 deaths and 20 wounded people. This happened after Jama's participation in MAD3 but his friends there set up a fund to help employees and their families. You can make a donation here.
