The National Geographic documentary about José Andrés and his non-profit organisation, World Central Kitchen, will be released on Disney+ on 27 May. Ahead of the streaming release, we have the trailer and a clip from the film.
Made by Oscar-winning director Ron Howard, We Feed People follows the work of Andrés and his 'food first responders'. It charts the rise of the organisation, from a group of local volunteers, to becoming a global network providing relief in warzones and the aftermath of natural disasters to millions of people around the world.
The film shadows Spanish chef Andrés organising food relief for people in need while working in various disaster-hit regions. It is an up-close, behind-the-scenes look at the logistical and organisational demands of running an organisation on the ground, where supply chains are affected and people are in desperate need of food.
The film is interspersed with interviews with the engaging Andrés, as well as other key figures within World Central Kitchen and people familiar with the chef and his work.
