As the UK gears up for a reopening of bars and restaurants for outdoor dining on 12 April a new app has been created to help diners find establishments with appropriate facilities.
With the UK’s hospitality industry chomping at the bit to get back to serving real customers on their actual premises after a torrid year of rolling lockdowns, it looks like 12 April really will be the start of summer.
Since there are only so many takeaways people can endure, customers too will be hungry for outdoor dining, and eager to drink a real pint from a real glass in a beer garden. It means there will be a clamour for seats as everyone rushes to their favourite bar or restaurant at the first opportunity, but not all places will be able to welcome customers back.

Only those with adequate outdoor dining or seating will be able to hit the ground running on 12 April, and it may prove a challenge for consumers to locate the right ones. Luckily a clever group of developers have put their heads together and come up with an app, Catch Me Outside, which is a directory for outdoor venues.

Every business with an outdoor dining or seating area, that is looking for customers in the coming weeks and months, could do worse than get their listing included.
