Initiated by Chefs Greg Baxtrom and Max Katzenberg, owners of Brooklyn restaurants Olmsted and Maison Yaki.
With restaurants under so much pressure at the moment, they need all the help they can get.

“Our mission is to protect as many of the 250,000 jobs we create together, which are now in jeopardy of eradication by the coronavirus,” says New York Hospitality Coalition.
“Today we are organizing action to demand that the sales tax payment due tomorrow for businesses shuttered by the crisis be postponed.
“The sales tax department will say that businesses should have collected and saved this tax by February 28th.
“During normal times they are 100% correct. These are the opposite of normal times. Overnight our cash flow faucet was shut off. And tomorrow is payday for our workforce. Businesses around the city will be choosing between bouncing their payroll checks and paying their tax on time.
“The governor must intervene, and we must make him hear us. Our businesses have been forced to close by this disaster and we have received NO disaster relief as of yet. This week we read about many businesses temporarily closing or going to delivery & takeout only.
“Next week we will be reading about those bouncing payroll checks. And the following will be about permanent closures. The government must step in now.”
“What will we do?
“Activate a groundswell of action towards our representatives to enact disaster relief such as:
- Sales Tax Postponement
- Eviction and Foreclosure Ban for the duration of the State of Emergency
- Cash Stimulus for Hospitality Workers
- SBA Disaster Loan Assistance
- Business Interruption Insurance Claim Mandate
- NYC Interest-Free Loan Program
-Support for laid off managers and workforce with a fund for personal debt payments, health insurance, child care, rent, etc. also advise on rent issues, unemployment filing, grants, more.
-Support operators with advisement on getting reopen, special loans and grants, taxes, new policy changes, etc.
