Italy has a brand new three-star restaurant, included in the Michelin Guide to Italy 2020 and it is Enrico Bartolini at Mudec in Milan.
A thirds star elevates this contemporary, design influenced restaurant at Milan’s Museo delle Culture (Museum of Cultures) to the highest echelon of gastronomy. Set in Milan’s design district of Tortona, the restaurant is a natural part of the ecosystem, surrounded by world-leading design outfits in the fields of fashion, product and architecture.
The menu is divided in two – the Be Contemporary tasting menu, offering forward-thinking cuisine and the Be Classic menu, including a range of chef Bartolini’s classic dishes.

Chef Bartolini can be categorised as one of Italy’s finest gastronomic talents with his Venice restaurant Glam by Enrico Bartolini receiving two Michelin stars in the 2020 guide.
Very accomplished for a relatively young chef, Bartolini first made his mark abroad – in the kitchens of Paolo Petrini in Paris and Mark Page in London – before returning to Italy, where he worked under the guidance of Massimiliano Alajmo and in the management of the Le Robinie restaurant in Oltrepò Pavese, where he earned his first Michelin star aged just 29.
“Above all, the new three-star restaurant Enrico Bartolini shines at the Mudec, where the chef's personality stands out for research and experimentation, blending perfectly with Milan's dynamism and giving an artist's touch to the rich Italian,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides.
Italy continues to excel in the world of fine dining with the Michelin Guide recognising 30 new one-starred, two new two-starred and one new three-starred restaurants, making it the second most starred guide in the world. Bartolini leads the way in this movement of gastronomic excellence.
