Netflix teams up with David Chang for another food/travel show Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Although the title is somewhat uninspired, the show looks like a lot of fun. Celebrity guests joining the Momofuku chef and Ugly Delicious star are Seth Rogen, Chrissy Tiegen, Kate McKinnon, and Lena Waithe.
The format is a simple one. Chang travels to an exotic destination with one of his pals and tries breakfast, lunch and dinner. The destinations to star in the series are Vancouver, Canada, Marrakesh, Morocco, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and Los Angeles, USA.
While Gordon Ramsay was getting, unfairly, flack for supposedly trying to take up the mantel left by Anthony Bourdain, it seems Chang will escape the same scrutiny.
That’s because Chang is very, very good on camera. He has the knowledge and kitchen chops to have earned the right to be there and what he does on screen just seems very natural. While Bourdain was the solo traveller, almost pilgrim like, Chang makes sure he has celebrity company along for the ride and the tone of the show is easy going, upbeat and enjoyable to watch.
