Spanish chef Paco Roncero is set to open a new restaurant in Hong Kong. The chef, who has two Michelin stars, is famous for La Terraza del Casino and his tapas bar Estado Puro in Madrid but will now start a new venture in Hong Kong's only revolving restaurant.
View 62, in Wan Chai, will focus on culinary science and nouvelle cuisine. Not surprise when considering Roncero's extensive experience working with Ferran Adria at his famous restaurant elBulli.
As well as surprising guests with food, the restaurant itself will be quite the experience, with three different dining areas and private dining with a chefs table. The ceiling of one of the rooms will feature over 50,000 large wooden sticks hanging from the roof creating a strange wave effect above diners as they eat.
With Hong Kong now boasting 92 Michelin stars among its restaurants - it's no surprise that more and more chefs are heading East where there is a huge demand for their style of avant-garde cuisine.
