The Michelin Guide for France 2016 has been released with two restaurants receiving the guide’s highest accolade of three Michelin stars; Le Cinq and Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée which regained it's third star after dropping to 2 in 2015, both in Paris.
There were 10 news restaurants in total to receive their second star, one of which - Le Grand Restaurant de Jean-Francois Piège - went straight in at two stars after opening back in September 2015.
In the one star category there was a total of 42 restaurant to receive their first star with seven of those stars located in Paris.
In total, the Michelin guide for France 2016 featured 600 restaurants with stars, 492 restaurant with a one-star rating, 82 restaurants with a two-star rating and 26 restaurants with the highest three-star rating,
