The Michelin Guide for Chicago 2014 has finally been unveiled and it turns out the Windy City is now home to 25 Michelin-starred restaurants, up from 19 last year.
Chicago was awarded a total of 31 Michelin stars with Grant Achatz's Alinea maintaining its standing as the city's only three-star restaurant.
There were two newcomers in the two-star catergory with the Grace restaurant by chef Curtis Duffy debuting at two stars (something that rarely happens in the guide) and Sixteen rising from one to two. Graham Elliot and L20 both maintained their two-star ranking.
The guide welcomed five newcomers in the one-star category: EL Ideas, Elizabeth, The Lobby, North Pond and the gluten-free restaurant Senza.
While Achart'z Next has been making headlines for its amazing menus, it failed to reach Michelin status, something that has been a big upset to fans.
