She's written a cookbook, has a food blog and is friends with chef Mario Batali. Now, self-proclaimed foodie and Hollywood darling Gwyneth Paltrow will express her passion for food by starring in the film version of Blood, Bones & Butter, as confirmed by media reports.
The movie is based on Blood, Bones & Butter: The Inadvertent Education of a Reluctant Chef, the food memoir written by Gabrielle Hamilton, who is the chef of acclaimed restaurant Prune in New York City. We interviewed Gwyneth a while back and knowing her passion for food, we're sure she's thrilled about the project and playing Gabrielle.
As recounted in her memoir, Gabrielle had an unusual upbringing. The book tell us she was ''the youngest of five siblings born to a French mother and an artist father who made the sets for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus.'' How did that end up inspiring a cooking career? You'd have to read the book or watch the movie to find out.
