Elena Reygadas of the Rosetta restaurant in Mexico City has been picked as Latin America’s Best Female Chef ahead of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurant List 2014, the renowed event sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, announced September 3rd in Lima, Peru.
Reygadas trained at The French Cuilinary Institute of New York before heading to London to work at a number of locations, including a five year stint at the Italian restaurant, Locanda Locatelli.
She opened Rosetta in 2011 utilising Mexican ingredients with a heavy Italian influence - her signature handmade pastas and breads are both highly revered.
Reygadas also runs Panaderia Rosetta - a bakery where she makes a range of artisan breads.
She will receive the award during the announcement of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants List in Lima, Peru, September 3rd.
