In what sounds like a very interesting pairing of both chef, sommelier and food, London is about to see it's first restaurant that serves champagne and hot dogs.
Chef James Knappet, who has worked with some of the world's best chefs and restaurants including Marcus Wareing and Noma, Will open Bubbledogs with around ten hot dogs on the menu including a Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato hot-dog wrapped in bacon and served with a truffle mayonnaise and a jose dog with guacamole, sour cream, salsa and jalapenos. The really interesting pairing is that alongside the hot dogs guests will also be offered sparkling wines and champagnes.
The restaurant, which he is opening with his wife and sommelier Sandia Chang, will open this summer in Fitzrovia, London. James also has plans to invite guest chefs into the kitchen to create their own hot-dogs with James Lowe from The Young Turks first on the list.
This concept of high end hot dogs is an interesting idea and one that may well start a whole new trend of gourmet dogs across the UK.
