Ever had the feeling that the food you just had at the restaurant probably tasted better because of the pretty plates? Plate-envy is a real thing. And you’re not the only one who has flipped over that plate after finishing your food, trying to figure out where you can get that exact piece of ceramic for yourself afterward.
At Coal Office in London, you can stop worrying and take that home, because everything from the plate, down to the marble table you are sitting at is for sale.
Opened by famed designer Tom Dixon and headed by chef Assaf Granit, Coal Office promises a new dining experience that blurs the boundaries between design and food. The designer curated every detail of the restaurant, that’s conveniently located above his shop in Coals Drop Yard.
So after you have had your smorgasbord of modern Middle Eastern cuisine by chef Granit, head straight down to collect some wine glasses, plates or even splurge on the stainless steel pendant lamp, designed by Dixon.
Coal Office is not the only showroom-restaurant by Dixon - he recently opened The Manzoni in Milan, a permanent showroom space for the designer including a modern Italian fine dining restaurant. Check out our coverage here: The Manzoni is Tom Dixon's Permanent Seat in Milan.
