The first episode of Gordon Ramsay's controversial new show, Uncharted, has aired and it’s receiving some pretty harsh reviews.
When it was first announced, the chef came under a lot of criticism with many claiming he was attempting to create a show to fill the void left by the death of Anthony Bourdain. Chef Eddie Huang was just one of the high profile voices to tweet about it.
Ramsay said the show would speak for itself and after airing the first episode July 21st, mixed reviews are rolling in. Vice called it a “toothless attempt to follow in Anthony Bourdain’s footsteps”, while Forbes said Ramsay provided a “globetrotting adventure worth watching.”
The first episode saw the shouty chef travel to the high attitudes of Peru. Guided by Virgilio Martinez, Ramsay learned about local Peruvian produce and dishes, eventually making the traditional dish of Cuy - guinea pig.
The series has six episode in total: Morocco, Laos, New Zealand, Alaska, and Hawaii.
