As if further proof were needed that chefs are the new rock stars Dominique Crenn appears in this month’s Rolling Stone magazine.
Crenn is the first female chef in the United States to receive three Michelin stars for her absurdly creative restaurant Atelier Crenn in San Francisco, the French national has also received a tsunami of press attention, a wave she’s riding with considerable grace.
As part of Rolling Stone’s Women Shaping the Future series, the video below askss Crenn to recount her first time. The first time she stood up for herself, the first time she worked in a kitchen, serving original cuisine, making an impact, being successful, voting and the first time she received a Michelin star.
As always, Crenn invokes ideas of solidarity, equality, empowerment and humanity, her empathy for other humans is worn on her sleeve.
