A while back we brought you news of a set of chefs knives that had become the most heavily funded on Kickstarter ever.
They were produced by a knife maker called Edge of Belgravia, and the London-based company is at it again with a new set of knives that has again smashed its crowdfunding target.
The Shiroi Hana knife set is made of AUS-10 Japanese steel, with polished 67-layer Damascus blades and a hardness of 58-60 HRC. Currently selling at $299 for a set of six knives, the Shiroi Hana smashed its campaign target of $32,000 in just two and a half hours when it was launched at the end of July, with pledges now standing at just over $430,000 from 1433 backers. Delivery is expected in March 2019.
So, Edge of Belgravia’s knives obviously have their fans, but there was a lot of discussion last time we posted about them, as to whether the handles would make the knives comfortable or even practical to use day in day out.
