Keeping herbs fresh longer is at the top of our list when it comes to kitchen tasks. Herbs add unimitable flavor and complexity to dishes so it is worth it to go the extra mile to keep them from spoiling too soon.
In the winter months techniques like drying, freezing and preserving herbs in oil make sense. Once spring and summer roll around fresh herbs become more accessible and we find that storing them in the fridge is the way to go.
Of course, one could also use nifty gadgets like this one to store fresh herbs but you don't really need to spend money to make herbs last longer.
To make keep herbs fresh longer simply follow this technique: wash and dry them, roll the stems in paper towel, sprinkle the towel with water and store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator (we recommend the produce drawer or middle of the fridge).
