Top of the list sits Italy's white truffle with 1.5 kilograms of the rare fungus sold for $160,000. This is followed by Almas caviar from Iran that costs $25,000 a kilo and comes in a personal 24 karat gold tin.
Third is, you'd have never guessed, melons - but not your regular kind. These Yubari King Melons from Japan demand huge prices at auction with matching pairs that have similar patterns commanding higher prices - around $22,000 for two.
Other interesting foods on the list include a $4,000 pizza, a $1,000 bagel and the mattake mushroom from Japan.
