While France is renowned for its fine wines rather than its hops, beer culture is gaining popularity in the hexagon, especially in Paris where bars specialising in beers are usually thronged with beer enthusiasts.
So if you're in the city of light for the Euro 2016 final and looking to soak up the atmosphere as the host country takes to the pitch, there's no reason to go thirsty.
Here are four venues for "bière à la pression" or beer on tap, as well as a range of artisanal beers, where you will be able to wet your whistle while waiting for kick off.
Where to Drink Beer in Paris
1. The Fine Mousse
Located a few hundred meters from Saint-Maur metro, in the Oberkampf, La Fine Mousse is the benchmark for Parisien bars serving beer. Here you can forget classic drinks and instead discover over twenty beers. And if you're spoilt for choice, take some advice from one of the "bièrologues" over the counter or refer to the detailed map, indicating the subtleties of each beer as if it were a great wine. We also like the minimalist decor of the place with its white stone walls, its brown leather chairs and counter where beer taps line up.
Where? Fine Mousse, 6 avenue Jean Aicard 11th arrondissement
