Nothing says 'I love you' like a heart shaped watermelon - at least that's what a Japanese farmer is hoping with the development of his rather unique heart shaped melons.
The fruits are basically grown within heart shaped moulds - as they increase in size they take on the shape of the mould and the finished result is the shiny heart melon you see above.
We've seen the technique used before as part of a drinks promotion but Hiroichi Kimura - the man behind the melon - is hoping to have commercial success with his funky fruit.
