Is it too early to start thinking about what foods you'll devour on St. Patrick's Day? Our insatiable appetite tells us it's the perfect time to start sharing recipes that will perk up your Irish festivies.
While you're throwing back pints of Guiness, don't forget to keep your belly full with Irish classics like Colcannon mashed potatoes with cabbage and leeks - a velvety rich mash that is simply to die for. If you don't happen to come across any leeks, you can subsitute with scallions, which will add a touch of green.
Not very traditional, but incredibly tasty is this cornbread with bacon. It's the perfect way to soak up the juices from a stew, given you're looking for an alternative to soda bread. It also goes great with stuffed cabbage, an Irish staple (pictured below).
Another way to add green to your table is with a green bean casserole. This particular dish is a favorite during Thanksgiving and Christmas but people seem to forget it come the New Year. We think it's perfect for St. Patrick's Day.
We'll keep the recipes for St. Patrick's Day coming. Stay tuned for more...
