He's known the world over for this love of Martinis, but the very first cocktail James Bond sipped in Ian Fleming's debut novel Casino Royale was anything but.

The author features 007 sipping an Americano - a cocktail made with Campari, Cinzano sweet vermouth, club soda and a garnish of lemon and orange. The Americano cocktail is described as being ''better suited'' four outdoor dining than a martini.
