A scheming diner in Australia has been caught on CCTV putting her own hair into a dish she ordered, before threatening to leave a bad review on TripAdvisor.
The customer at Casa Nostra Ristorante in Brisbane complained to staff about the hair and demanded her meal be comped, only for the staff to realise there was no way the long blond hair could come from a staff member. According to this report, when they refused, the woman threatened to leave a bad review on TripAdvisor, which she duly did, and "destroy" the restaurant.
The restaurant’s response was priceless however, as they had CCTV appearing to show the woman putting the hair in her dish (see below). They posted the evidence on Instagram and contacted TripAdvisor in advance to warn them they were being blackmailed, but the review was still published. It’s now been taken down.
The restaurant currently has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor, from 68 reviews.
Is this the worst customer ever? We’re sure this goes on all the time, so, sadly, no.
Is this the best chef response to a bad review ever?
