Irish pubs are revered around the world, a home away from home where Guinness and bonhomie flow freely, Irish craic is always on tap and strangers part as friends ...
But how does the idea of popping out for a pint of the black stuff at your very own Irish pub in the back garden sound? That's right folks, thanks to The Inflatable Pub Company, you can now purchase and station a pop up inflatable Irish pub within staggering distance of your own front door.
The Irish based company have a number of pop up pub styles available on-line, which can even be customised to make a replica of your local or favourite pub! Existing styles include the cosier Matt Malloy (pictured above) with a standing capacity of 30 to 35 people, right up to the mightier 'Mac' where you can double your numbers, plus fit a live band.
It all sounds like a lot of fun (if your neighbours are still talking to you), taking the childhood awe of a bouncy castle and essentially filling it with booze... And the best bit? You get to call time at the bar.
The prices range from $2500 to $6200, so if that all sounds like too much to swallow you could always try to rent a pop–up pub. PaddyWagonPub based in Boston, USA do just that (with thatched roof, chimney and a replica roaring fire), complete with bar staff, Irish food and beer. All you need is 80 friends to fill it.
