Those of those who drink will recognise the familiar flush of alcohol–induced wellbeing, as wine and more wine is imbibed. We become totally relaxed, including our faces, which begin to form new, amplified expressions, as we become wine drunk.
This is something that fascinates Brazilian photographer Marcos Alberti. He decided to invite friends to his studio for a drink and asked to photograph them after one, two and three glasses of wine. As his subjects got drunk on wine, their expressions began to change.
As you can see, the resulting photographs are amazing. While some managed to hold it together fairly well, with the lightest of smiles crossing their lips, it looks like others really went for it – they’re certainly enjoying themselves.
As Alberti states of the project: “There is a saying about wine ... 'The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem.' I really wanted to see ... for myself if that affirmation was in fact true.”
We think you have your answer Marcos.
