News - A total of 31 Stars for Bangkok and Phuket
The Michelin Guide to Bangkok 2019 has been released with a total of 27 starred restaurants appearing in the new list.
Big news for the Sühring twins who have been upgraded from a one star to two star listing. There's also a healthy showing of ten new one Michelin star restaurants on the list, plus Phuket’s first Michelin Star listing with PRU. No restaurants are yet hitting the three star sweet spot.
Four restaurants earn the two Michelin star grading and 23 restaurants are listed with one Michelin star, including street food stall, Jay Fai who made the headlines in the inaugural edition of the guide last year.
“This year’s guide is a reflection of the growing talent in Thailand’s culinary scene with many new restaurants added to the selection, including 13 specializing in Thai food” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides.
This is the second edition of the Bangkok guide, which has this year been expanded to include Phuket and Phang-Nga.
