The American Bar at the Savoy Hotel in London was named the best bar in the world at The World's 50 Best Bars awards ceremony held in London’s Southwark Cathedral last night.
Winning the accolade for the first time, American Bar set inside the Savoy hotel takes the title from the 2016 No.1, The Dead Rabbit in New York. London’s Dandelyon climbed up into second, while The Nomad in New York was third.
London leads the city rankings with a total of eight bars listed, four of which are in the top ten, while the US is home to the most bars on the list.
The NoMad at NoMad Hotel was named the Best Bar in North America, making it quite the year for restaurateur Will Guidara and chef Daniel Humm on the back of their best restaurant win.
A total of 13 North American bars are included in the list, seven of which hail from New York, and two of which are in the top ten. Other US cities on the list are San Francisco, Miami, and Chicago. See the full list below:
