The Rocas, the three brothers behind the three Michelin star El Celler de Can Roca restaurant in Girona, a two-time World's 50 Best Restaurants winner, have announced plans to open a chocolate factory in the Catalan town.
Pastry chef Jordi Roca's vision is for a bean to bar factory with a small boutique hotel concept in downtown Girona, the restaurant tells us. Roca, who already has a gelateria called ROCAMBOLESC in the city, wants to draw attention to some of the world's best small suppliers through direct cacao sourcing.
Joan Roca, the eldest of the brothers spoke of the plans at the #50BestTalks Barcelona event last week.
It's still very early days and the project is still in the design stage, which will take around a year we're told, but we'll bring you more details, as soon as we have them.
You can be sure that Jordi Roca's unique creativity will be all over the project and we look forward to seeing how it develops.
