A hobby gardener has developed what is believed to be the world’s hottest pepper.
Mike Smith, working alongside Nottingham University, produced a new pepper called the "Dragon's Breath" chili and it smashes the previous record holder for heat.
The world’s hottest chill on record is the Carolina Reaper which clocks in at around 2.2 million on the Scoville rating (the measurement used to quantify heat).
Smith and team say their Dragon's Breath chili comes flying in at 2.48 million on the Scoville rating. It’s that hot the people who made it won’t even taste it, they are apparently waiting for Guiness World Records to verify their achievemnet and rank it as the world's hottest.
We wouldn't recomend eating these bad boys, and if you really need some warning, watch this video.
